Bonda ma Jacques

(Capsicum chinense).

From St Lucia in the Caribbean comes the Bonda ma Jacques. A ripper of a throat Burn that has to be tried to be believed, add their Fantastic Flavour and its an all round winner.

 

Grows to over a Meter tall in Pots or Bigger in Ground, produces heaps of Extremely Hot Pods. 1 of my Favs

Morouga Red

Trinidad Habanero

the Morouga Red, virtually unknown but an absolute beauty from Trinidad, apparently named from the region from which it came

 

A Habanero type grows to about a Meter tall, produces heaps of Nuclear Hot Pods,, Excellent in Either Pots or Ground

From Trinidad in the Caribbean come the Trinidad Habanero, Another of the chinense varieties, plants are stocky with thick Branch’s and grow to bout a meter tall , the plants are packed with huge Pods with an average weight of 14gms (1/2 Oz)

Trinidad Yellow Scotch Bonnets

From Trinidad in the Caribbean come the Trinidad Yellow Scotch Bonnet, Another of the chinense varieties, plants are short but solid, not a heavy producer but what you get are pods of various shapes that are sweet and Fruity with that Bonnet Flavour and Heat

Congo Yellow

The Congo Yellow from The Caribbean, plants are stocky and Bushy with thick Branch’s and grow to well over a meter tall , the plants are packed with huge Yellow Pods of various shapes, with a Fantastic Heat and Great Taste.

Congo Black

The Congo Black is from the Caribbean. It is also known as the Chocolate Habanero or Brown scotch bonnet. The dark green fruit turns deep brown as it matures and has a rich peppery flavour. This is one of the hottest Habaneros measuring over 400,000 SHUs units. Wonderful passionfruit like flavour

Trinidad Bean

A non superhot from Trinidad, well close. The Trinidad Bean, a strange plant growing to a Metre and filled with lots of Bean shaped Pods, which have a Habanero taste and a heat pretty close to one as well.

 

Excellent in Pots or does well in the Ground.

One of my Favourite looking pods.

Trinidad Perfume

A Seasoning chilli from Trinidad,  minimal heat so those not into the Burn can still get that flavour without the Pain, Not a heavy bearer of pods but a nice sweetish Hab flavour

Mine are in Pots but would do well in the Ground.

Another of my Favourite looking pods.

    As for heat ?  I couldn’t tell if even has any , So gave 1 to the wife. “whats a capsicum? Pepper’s hotter, a tingle”

Hot Cherry

Another from the Caribbean, got these from Trinidad the "Hot Cherry" the plants grow to bout 50 -60 cm and are chock full of 1cm roundish pods that start a light green and ripen to a vibrant Red.

 

Add Great taste plus nice heat and compact and all round great Plant

Tobago Seasoning

A non hot Chinense variety, The original seeds of these were collected at a market in Scarboro, Tobago in March 1999 by Dr Jeff Nekola ,apparently nice flavour but minimal Heat, used extensively in the local cuisine as a seasoning pepper, pod shape can vary and a great variety for Pots
